The Globe of Science and Innovation is essentially funded by sponsors and donors and provides its partners with an exclusive and truly spectacular high-profile venue and an ideal forum for exchanges between science and society.
Through this showcase, the Globe’s partners are associated with a large-scale international project that is firmly anchored in humanist values, education, knowledge-sharing, ethical principles, science and innovation.
The Foundation for the Globe of Science and Innovation would like to extend its warmest thanks to all of the donors and sponsors that support the Foundation and allow it to undertake all its various activities:
(list of donors on the 1st August 2015)
Your support for the Globe of Science and Innovation will allow the Foundation to promote a better understanding of the scientific missions of CERN among all types of audience.
Your participation will support not only our programme of scientific, cultural and educational activities but also our investments in new infrastructures and equipment, and the maintenance and operation of the Globe, the centrepiece for visits of the general public to CERN.
Our donors and sponsors have the option of using the Globe space to organise conferences, debates, symposia, gala dinners or other private events, in exchange for covering the building's operating costs for the days concerned. However, there are strict rules for use which exclude, in particular, any activity that is not in line with the Foundation’s ethical principles, is directly commercial in nature or is intended to express political or religious views.
The Council of the Foundation will be pleased to provide you with a comprehensive dossier detailing the steps to take to become a Globe donor or sponsor. A meeting may be organised at your convenience.
Even modest donations can enrich the quality of our projects, especialy if they are made in significant numbers. Simplified electronic payment systems are available to encourage everyone to contribute what they can to the promotion of science, education and discovery.
Donations made to foundations are generally tax deductible. As an officially-recognised non-profit organisation, the Foundation for the Globe of Science and Innovation will provide you, on request, with the necessary certificates.
